Summer Season : Change your food habits to be Healthy
Summer Season: Change your food habits to be healthy
Do you know why we fall ill with change of every season?
Why our dadis and nanis advised us not to eat
certain food in specific season?
Why mother nature has given us all juicy fruits in summer season only?
'Ayurveda' explains it all.
Change of season creates direct
impact on our physiology. In summer season, air is very hot and dry which
causes dryness in our body. Heat of summer season causes excessive sweating,
loss of fluids and essential salts from our body. It lowers down our appetite
and ‘Bala (stamina)' of body.
To cope up with this we need to
change the way we eat and what we eat because if we keep on eating in the same
way we will fall ill.
- Seasonal fruits and vegetables: Fruits
like musk melon, watermelon, mango, cucumber etc. should be consumed. They
are natural coolants, that keep body hydrated and problems like UTI (Urinary
Tract Infection) at bay
Fruits are your best friends in Summer - Iced Beverages will not help: Generally, we consume soft drinks and juices with
lots of ice into it. This rather weakens our Digestive Fire (Agni) of our body
and causes indigestion resulting in problems like loose motions, vomiting, etc. Instead we can have sherbets of Khus, Chandan, Aam Panna, Lemonades, etc. They are cool in nature and improves digestion
Drink plenty of fluids to keep yourself hydrated - Consume Ghee:
Heat in the Environment causes dryness in our skin and body. To prevent this,
we should consume Ghee in various forms to keep us nourished
Ghee keeps the dryness away from your body - Milk should be taken regularly
- Rice is good in summer season
- ‘Sattu’ is very healthy in summer season
- Avoid vigorous exercises: Since 'Bala' (strength) of our body is at its lowest so never go for vigorous exercises
- Avoid alcohol during Summers .
