), Vrishya and Rasayan (Immunomodulator)
It is richest source of Vitamin C which is
20 times more than what Orange juice has.
Other than this Amalki is a good source of
gallic acid , tannic acid, Protein , fats, minerals, calcium , phoshorous,
iron, Vitamin B6, iron and Fibre. Pectin is found in abundance.
According to Ayurveda `Eating food with all six
taste (Rasa ) is best for your health. Amla out of six contains 5 taste and hence
make it a wonder fruit .

It is cool in nature. It is best
pita pacifier. Effective in
diabetic conditions, acidity , burning conditions. Good for eyes and hair. It is diuretic,
mild laxative and improves functioning of Liver.
Amla is effective in other conditions like :
- Controls HairFall : In conditions like hairfall and baldness washing hair with Amla powder or consuming it orally remarkably controls hairfall.
- Headache : Its powder is very effective in headaches caused by aggravated Pitta .
- Acidity : It increaases secretion of digestive juices and thus helps in proper digestion of food. Due to Pitta pacifying property it reduces acidity and subsides stomach pain caused due to peptic ulcer.
- Inflammation of Eyes : In case of redness, burning sensation, irritation of eyes wash your eyes with Amla water. ( take one glass of water mix it with 1 tsf of Amla powder soak it for 10 to 12 hours and strain it.)
- Anemia : Consuming half tsf of Amla powder with Loha bhasma cures Anaemia.
- Anti - Ageing : Free radicals causes premature ageing. Amla contains Vitamin C and anti- oxidants which scavanges free radicals and prevents premature ageing.
